Let's start the jam.


Ok,...I decided to do as my fellow dotmos and signed up for the 'Retro Platform Jam'. There are lots of valid target platforms and I picked the playstation one. 
I already started to get familiar the last week and it is actually fun to work with. I also have gdb-debugger working. As base for my project this repo is actually all I need. Lots of examples (draw box, use pad,...) very low level, but exactly as I want it. And there are lots of additional information. Have look here. 

I already implemented a simple animation function and tested it with a lovely sheep one of the hundrets of 2d-assets I bought on humble bundle. And as the sheep is already there I will make it the protagonist of "Super Sheep". Obviously I have no clue what I want to do, but I know that I do want to use tiled.
Played with it the last week and made a small python-script that can read a tmx-file and create a tileset-img with all images that are actually used in the tilemap, acompanied with a header-file with the tilemap as int-array.
I just got tilemap creation to work.
